A Residential Architecture Project in Austin, TX

For the Chalk Knoll project, our clients came to our team of Austin architects with a dated 2000s Mediterranean style interior and asked us to transform it into a serene contemporary retreat. The original interior architecture of the first floor consisted of multiple archways, clunky dividing walls, and busy tiered ceilings constructed with odd angled furr downs. Our team of architects removed the features to make way for clean contemporary lines, clerestory windows above the kitchen cabinets, and panoramic glass doors leading out to an expanded patio and stunning pool. We reconfigured the floor plan of the main living area to accommodate a new entryway foyer, a guest bathroom, a laundry room, and an open-concept kitchen and living room. Upon entering the home through the sleek glass and metal double doors, you are greeted with white oak hardwood floors that flow throughout the bright and airy space. The new kitchen features an oversized island with seating, a large pantry, a bar, a wine fridge, a stainless steel appliance package, and a focal point backsplash accented with mother of pearl detailing. The kitchen is balanced with mirrored custom built-ins and a limestone fireplace on the opposite side of the great room. The formerly closed-off space offers indoor-outdoor connections and seamless flow to outdoor entertaining areas through dual panoramic glass doors. Now, this family can connect and relax poolside in their newly renovated Austin home.
