The residence on White Bluff Trail is in a new development of large-acre lots off the Palo Duro Canyon ridge outside of Amarillo, Texas. It is approximately 3600 square feet, with a 1200 square-foot garage with workroom. A focus was placed on orientation for optimum views of the canyon. This was achieved through expansive use of glass across the rear elevation. A second-floor balcony was provided for greater views of the canyon. Elements of local Texas architecture were implemented throughout the exterior through the use of materials such as limestone and cedar. Energy flows through the house easily with little square-footage dedicated to hallways in such a large house. The house was designed for a family of four with the master bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs and a great room to allow for separate family living areas. A craft studio was also included in the design, which overlooks the canyon.
