A Residential Architecture Project in Austin, TX

The Daystar remodel project tasked our Austin architecture team with increasing the home’s square footage, updating the finishes to reflect a modern lifestyle, and reorienting the windows to take advantage of the greenbelt views. The home’s original floor plan featured no windows overlooking the landscape, a small front entry, and a front deck and patio that wasted space and faced the less-than-scenic driveway. Our Texas architects reimagined what this home could be. We renovated the house to include expansive rows of windows that frame the lush greenery outside. Our team expanded the front entry, added modern, metal frame double doors for a welcoming approach, and converted the front deck and patio into usable space for a master bedroom and dining room expansion. Our architects also reworked the floor plan to increase the living room’s size to allow for more seating and created an updated kitchen featuring an expansive island and walk-in pantry. Finishes were updated in the kitchen to lighten the space with marble counters and white cabinets, and the home was modernized with dark wood floors and contemporary features like the simple black stair railing.
